Publix approved for University and Airport despite traffic qualms

The Mobile City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved plans for a Publix grocery store in west Mobile, despite the concerns of neighbors who said it would aggravate already-congested traffic in the area.

One woman is dead and another is in custody after Mobile County Sheriff’s Office deputies today responded to the report of two females fighting inside a vehicle in the area of Spice Pond Road, according to a news release.
